Hope Debelius

Hi all,

I’m Hope! I am a Boston based lighting designer for theatre, dance, and opera. I am currently pursuing my MFA in Lighting Design from Boston University’s College of Fine Arts (expected graduation Spring 2026). I come from a background in dance that is very important to me, and I believe that it helps me create in valuable ways because of the way I understand/interpret movement. I am always looking to grow as a designer and theatre artist, and I believe that commitment, organization, collaboration, and responsibility are all integral parts of any design process.

Since graduating from Point Park, I have had the opportunity to work with Baltimore Center Stage, The Pittsburgh Public Theatre, City Theatre Company, The Juilliard School, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, The Pittsburgh Playhouse, the Pittsburgh CLO, the National High School Dance Festival, Shana Simmons Dance, Prime Stage Theatre, South Park Theatre, Throughline Theatre Company, the New Hazlett Theatre’s CSA Series, The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, and Bristol Valley Theatre.
