Hope Debelius

Hi all,

I’m Hope! I am a New York based lighting designer and assistant for theatre, dance, and opera. I earned my MFA in Lighting Design from Boston University’s College of Fine Arts. I come from a background in dance that is very important to me, and I believe that it helps me create in valuable ways because of the way I understand/interpret movement. I am always looking to grow as a designer and theatre artist, and I believe that commitment, organization, collaboration, and responsibility are all integral parts of any design process.

I have had the opportunity to work with American Repertory Theatre, The Huntington Theatre Company, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Baltimore Center Stage, The Pittsburgh Public Theatre, City Theatre Company, The Juilliard School, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and many others.
